Mother Nature

Dear Mother Nature,

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?

It is April 16th, 2009 and I have yet to see spring like weather, I am starting to worry. Oh yes, you tempt me with your 'budding' of the trees and the wild flowers that popped up among the frozen, thawing, frozen again ground...but now they have all died and shriveled away and I don't think they will be coming back. Even my poor, pitiful yard is still brown and unhappy (and I want you to know I spent good money getting that yard resodded last year with the hopes of enjoying it fully this spring and I AM NOT!)

I do not know what has caused this sudden seasonal shift, the hubs is convinced that we are not infact headed to mass exodus via global warming but a more subtle frozen tundra of our very own Ice Age. I have always defended you and argued this point, however lately, this has been harder to do as with each 30 degree morning I face he looks at me and says "See, honey...What did I tell you?"

I am still clinging to my own theories though.

1. During this especially cold snowy and icy winter, you managed to slip and hit your head. Thus causing some type of minor brain concussion resulting in temporary memory loss (yes, I say temporary because I just know you will remember to send summer our way, even if you forgot spring.)

2. I am getting older-excruciatingly evident by the constant eye rolling of my oldest daughter-but I have heard about you my entire life, so you MUST BE OLD. I say this not in a demeaning manner, but more as an observation. Has the 'CHANGE' finally hit you - have you decided the hot flashes are too much to bear in the ever warming days of spring that lead to the swealtering heat of Summer? I understand you need to stay cool, but some of us are not quite there yet and would like to enjoy a little warmth in our weather.

3. I know I can be 'whiny' at times (I would never admit this openly and no, my hubs opinion DOES NOT count) with my constant..."oooh it so cold I wish summer would get here" and "Oh mai holy hell its hot, will it ever not cool off?" but I really don't mean any of it. (Ok, maybe a little...no, I take it back, I don't mean any of it) Perhaps you finally got tired of all the complaining and decided to just say 'Screw it' and quit changing seasons, but here's the deal...that's not really going to work for the rest of us out here who ENJOY the variety. We complain...its what we do, I know we should appreciate what we have, but its not personal and it was never directed at YOU!

So here's the thing...

If you would be so kind as to bring back spring (for its remaining time) and perhaps let us enjoy summer without some sort of blistering heat I would really appreciate it. I'm sure everyone else who has constantly woken up to 30 degree mornings and random snow falls would really like a little greenery in their lives as well. Not to mention it really SUCKS when I finally get a nice day to get out and do some yard work, only to find my plants frozen 3 days later and my seedlings...yeah we won't even go there. So perhaps you could do us all a little favor and quit hording Spring...WE WANT IT BACK!!

Love,
Kel

Fear is....

Fear is...
...being told, at 20 weeks pregnant, that you are in premature labor, you are bleeding and there is nothing more the doctors can do for you except pray.

Fear is...
...letting your 9month old child go as you get on a plane, headed to a war somewhere far away knowing this could very well be the last time you ever get to see her or hold her again.

Fear is...
...working for just enough to cover the daycare expenses and other necessities of raising a toddler and wondering if you will ever be able to provide you child the type of life they deserve.

Fear is...
...packing what little you can into the truck of your car, along with your cat and daughter and joining the hundreds of other motorist in a last ditch effort to out run one of the most devestating hurricanes to hit the US. All the while knowing you may have nothing left to return to and you were barely holding on to begin with.

Fear is...
...watching your child be hurt by the actions of others, careless, thoughtless, apathetic adults who have no sense of compassion and being powerless to do anything to prevent the pain that results.

Fear is NOT...
...checking on your child at 10:30pm and realizing she is not in her bed. (Not unsual as I find my child with make shift beds elsewhere all the time)

...not being able to find said child after searching all the usual places she ends up after deciding she does not want to sleep in her bed.

...searching for your child for 20 minutes, turning every light on in the house and shouting her name because the house alarm has been on since you tucked said child into bed and no doors have been opened.

Fear in NOT...
...Finding said child comfortably asleep under her sisters crib, neatly hidden by her sisters crib skirt, curled snuggly up with a blanket....

...That my dear friends is....
PANIC and the utter self restraint to not hug said child until their eyes bulge from their head in an effort to throttle them because you were seconds from having a heartattack!

*****edit******
On a side note, I wonder if perhaps said child did not think this was some clever way to get her mamma on a slightly early April Fools joke??? ;)

What is YOUR best/worst April Fools joke memory??

BINGO

I haven't done Monday Madness in a few weeks because, well, life has kind of gotten the best of me and my aptitude to notice the obvious has ... in short...sucked!

Considering we left off Friday with a Margritaville Escape - I'm thinking we should all need to head to the store on our way back home...if your like me, your week does not start off right without a trip, (or two, three, or five) to Wal*Mart!

Yes, I live in the "south" (at least that is what everyone around here calls it) and often I've been known to refer to it as redneckville (depending on the day, I am proud of this) but regardless, this was brought to my attention some time ago and I feel that it only fair to share it with each of you. See how many you can find on your next trip to Wal*Mart! :)
**Does the 'giving away kittens' count if it comes with the purchase of a Sunday paper from the parking lot of the Wal*Mart??

Who Yell'd BINGO??! (in my best southern drawl)

Fuzzy Pink Cuffs

In honor of the upcoming Valentines Holiday I thought I would provide you with a little story about LOVE!

Once upon a time there lived a young man and a young woman very much in love.

They had a wonderful courtship, full of fabulous hotel suites, dressy parties and cleverly named drinks.

The young woman was madly in love with this handsome young man, so much so that she agreed to let him 'tie' her up with the fuzzy pink handcuffs purchased earlier that day.
It was a magical night.

Time passed, the couple grew older and still their loved continued, so they decided to make it official and said "I DO" in the presence of their friends and family.

The celebration was grand, good times had by all and at the end of the night the newly married husband pulled out the 'fuzzy pink cuffs' he had been saving for that 'special occasion.'

His new bride could not have been happier.

Time continued to creep past, babies were born, toddlers grew to young children, careers were built and soccer games attended. But one day while cleaning out the closet, the wife stumbled upon the long forgotten 'fuzzy pink cuffs' and thought...ooh, now wouldn't this be fun?!

She went about the rest of the day excited with anticipation until finally the time came for this long married couple to kiss goodnight and crawl into bed.

She waited until her husband was comfy and then leaned over to him and said in her most 'sexy' voice....
"Honey, can I tie you up?"

Without opening his eyes the husband said to her...
"You already put a ball and chain on me...isn't that good enough for you woman?"

Happy Valentines Day - I hope it's one to remember!!

W - the Comedian

After George W.'s final press conference yesterday, I must admit part of me will be sad to see him go. Oh, this is not to say that I agree with his politics or not (that is not what I am questioning) however some of the more humorous moments occur when this man starts to speak.

Take for example - in yesterdays final unscripted press conference, when George is asked about Mistakes he believes he has made during his presidency he states:
"Not having weapons of mass destruction was a significant disappointment. I don’t know if you want to call those mistakes or not, but they were — things didn’t go according to plan, let’s put it that way."

In 8 years in office this man has been the 'butt' of many a joke - so much so that he even spawned a little cartoon "lil Bush" (which I watched faithfully.) He may not have been the best President we've had, but he will not be forgotten...

Bushisms 101 -
"Your eminence, you're looking good." --George W. Bush to Pope Benedict XVI, using the title for Catholic cardinals, rather than addressing him as "your holiness," Rome, June 13, 2008

"We got plenty of money in Washington. What we need is more priority." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., June 2, 2008

"Wait a minute. What did you just say? You're predicting $4-a-gallon gas? ... That's interesting. I hadn't heard that." --George W. Bush, Washington, D.C., Feb. 28, 2008

What will you remember most about George W. Bush?

Monday Madness - Blogging

In the world of social Media, Blogging, Twittering, Facebook(ing), Plurk(ing), Stumbl(ing) are what we do. These are great things ... for those of us who do it, however if you are still living in a cave and are not sure what it is all about, then talking to an 'addict' can be a bit strange.

Here's why:

1. You know what the word "FODDER" means and can correctly use it in a sentence, more than once a day. (as in blog fodder)

2. Activities in your house are determined based on 'blog-worthiness.'

3. When having a conversation with a non-blogger, you ask them if you can use 'their story' because it would be REALLY FUNNY.

4. You now speak in 140 character (or less) sentences.

5. You inadvertently find yourself using "Txt speak" when writing non-text related items (and your not 16). "OMG-LOL-Srsly?-Oh Mah Holy Hell..."

6.You look at your husband and say with all seriousness "The Elf Restroom was funny, but I've already used that one...can you come up with something original AND funny... I need something new for NEXT WEEK!"

7. Your kids have no idea just how much blackmail you are going to have on them when they are 16.

8. You compose blogs and tweets in your sleep.

9. You find yourself checking your crackberry/iPhone/Computer every time you pass it to see if there has been any new updates in the last 5 minutes.

10. You've never met them, but you feel like you know your 'friends' better than some of your 'in real life' friends.

If you can answer yes to more than 2 of the above, you might just be addicted to Social Media. (I am)

Are you an addict?

Friday Funny - Road Trip

It's Friday and while I'm thrilled to have a few days of not having to get up before the sun, this week wasn't one of the best. So instead of my usual "Fractional Friday" I'm providing you with a "Friday Funny."

While driving down the road listening to blue collar comedy on the radio Jeff Foxworthy comes on and is telling a story about his daughter.

She comes to him and his wife one day and asks:
"Is wrestling considered SEX?"

They chuckle and respond with:
"well honey that depends on how hard you wrestle."
*nudge nudge wink wink*
"Why?"

It's at this point the hubs and I giggle at the reference when from the back seat we suddenly hear a voice pipe in
"I don't get whats so funny?"

OH CRAP - DQ was listening...wasn't she just asleep????

Have you recently had an "oh crap" moment?

Elf Restroom

The hub is a dork...I love this man with all my heart, but I have to admit he is a dork, and yes he approved this blog.

Over the weekend we traveled to visit his family (9hrs away) and we brought Jr back with us. During one of our gas/bathroom stops along the way I head into the store to take care of the bathroom part of it while the hubs gets gas. He finishes up and heads inside before we hit the road where he meets Jr (who is still in the bathroom.) While the hub is in there he mouths (in his best Elf impersonation)

Hey! Have you seen these toilets? They're ginormous.

Which wouldn't be a big deal, except for the fact that Jr has already headed out of the bathroom and now the hubs is unknowingly talking to strangers in the Men's room.

Note to self...check before making funny movie references in a public restroom!

Only one more day....

Election Day

In the spirit of all things election I thought this would be perfect for today.

I HAVE DECIDED TO BECOME A WRITE-IN CANDIDATE. HERE IS MY PLATFORM:

(1) 'Press 1 for English' is immediately banned. English is the official language; speak it or wait at the border until you can.

(2) We will immediately go into a two year isolationist posture to straighten out the country's attitude. NO imports, no exports.
We will use the 'Wal-Mart policy, If we ain't got it, you don't need it.'

(3) When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it.

(4) All retired military personnel will be required to man one of our many observation towers on the southern border. ( six month tour) They will be under strict orders not to fire on SOUTHBOUND aliens.

(5) Social security will immediately return to its original state. If you didn't put nuttin in, you ain't gettin nuttin out. The president nor any other politician will not be able to touch it.

(6) Welfare - Checks will be handed out on Fridays at the end of the 40 hour school week and the successful completion of urinalysis and a passing grade.

(7) Professional Athletes - Steroids - The FIRST time you check positive you're banned for life.

(8) Crime - We will adopt the Turkish method, the first time you steal, you lose your right hand. There are no more life sentences. If convicted, you will be put to death by the same method you chose for your victim; gun, knife, strangulation, etc.

(9) One export will be allowed; Wheat. The world needs to eat. A bushel of wheat will be the exac t price of a barrel of oil.

(10) All foreign aid using American taxpayer money will immediately cease, and the saved money will pay off the national debt and ultimately lower taxes. When disasters occur around the world, we'll ask the American people if they want to donate to a disaster fund, and each citizen can make the decision whether it's a worthy cause.

(11) The Pledge of Allegiance will be said every day at school and every day in Congress.

(12) The National Anthem will be played at all appropriate ceremonies, sporting events, outings, etc.

Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes but a vote for me will get you better than what you have, and better than what you're gonna get. Thanks for listening, and remember to write in my name on the ballot in November.

God Bless America !!!!!!!!!!!

*As a note - I am not a write in candidate, nor do I want to EVER be a write in candidate. Despite any or your or my personal beliefs...these are not my words or my thoughts - I just thought it was humorous.*

What would you add to the platform?

Monday Madness - Election Foe Pa's

it has been a memorable year and I am actually glad to say I've been able to be apart of it...the best part for me has been some of the more comedic moments throughout the campaign (no, I'm not talking SNL, but those are really funny!)

Monday Madness - Election Foe Pa's

1. Sarah Palin Punk'd - Canadian Comedy Duo prank called Sarah Palin and convinces her she is talking to the French President.

2. John McCain gets Stood up - John McCain call's for 'Joe the Plumber' on his first stop of the tour only to find - Joe the Plumber is no where to be found.

3. Stand up Chuck - Joe Biden calls upon Missouri state Sen. Chuck Graham to "stand up," despite the fact that he is in a wheelchair.

4. That One - John McCain refers to Barack Obama during his second round of presidential debates as 'That One.'

5. 57 States? - At a campaign event in Oregon Barack Obama says "Now I've been in 57 states - I think theres one more to go."

And remember - Don't forget to Vote!! :)

Monday Madness - Morning Person

Scene:
It's O'dark thirty on a Monday morning. There is an unusual chill in the air and you are trying to recover from a weekend of commendable party-festivities. You must find sustanance to wake you from this stupor and what to your amazed sleep-laden eyes do you see, but the Green and White Starbucks sign, beconing you from the distance.

The car is on auto pilot as you enter the drive, round the building and head for the drive thru when all of the sudden - without warning or even a moment to glance at the menu (I know, I'm probably the only one who looks at the menu there) out of this little box sounds the most chipper voice imaginable.
Welcome to Starbuck where Amy, Julie and Dan are here to delight your tastebuds with the freshest coffee available. Would you like to try one of our Pumpkin Spice latte's or perhaps a yummy Pumpkin cheesecake muffin?
Seriously????

I'm half awake and here you are blasting my eardrums with with more perkiness than a blonde, high school cheerleader after being crowned Homecoming Queen!

All I can do at this point is laugh - laugh thru my order and laugh at her as I drive away with my shot of 'pick me up.' I am a morning person people, but seriously....I am not THAT happy at O'dark thirty in the morning!!!

What is the one thing that grates on your nerves 1st thing in the morning?

Alone at Last??

One of the first things I learned when I became a mother is that I was never alone. For 6 years now, I have not been 'alone' - but there are those rare, stolen moments when I get a few seconds to pretend I am alone (and perhaps pee with the bathroom door closed.)

The other day was no exception. DQ has been clinging very near my side for a few days now, Little Miss has had enough of her Daddy and decided to come drool on Mama for a while. If I went to the kitchen - they would follow, if I went to the bedroom - they would follow, if I sat down on the couch - they would find their way into my lap.

At one point, I managed to get Little Miss into her bed so I could jump in the shower. DQ had been engrossed in a computer game with her head phones on and I decided to sneak off. I had just gotten in the shower when DQ knocks on the door - Inquiring Minds want to know.....
I convince her I will be out momentarily and eventually she finds her way out.

To my surprise, when I exit the bathroom I find DQ, curled up snugly under the covers reading 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' which has been resting on my nightstand. I stood there briefly, my jaw on the floor at the scene before me, I finally realized I was not dreaming and asked"What are you doing?" to which she lowered the book enough to see me and said with a straight face "I'm reading a book." and then returned to reading.

Seriously?! Flash forward a few years and I have no doubt this is a scene I will be living. So while my day started this way and continued on this way eventually the children have to sleep right? I held out hope and FINALLY later that night, I kiss the girls good night and make my way to find the hub for a little tivo catch up before bed -

Me - Are you coming out of the office to watch "Fringe"
Hub - Yes, in a minute. I have 3 minutes left of this game and then I'll be there (Yes the hub is a gamer)
Me - Um hum...sure you are.
Hub - Yes, 2 minutes 48 seconds to go.

So with this new insight, I head off to console Little Miss who is whimpering in her crib and then realize I can have one peaceful moment to pee ALONE. I make a bee line for the bedroom, round the corner almost there, close the door and let out a sigh of relief when what to my wondering ears do I hear....

But the hub knock, knock, knocking on the door saying Are you coming to watch the show or what???

Seriously, what does a girl gotta do to get 1 minute alone in the bathroom?

Battle of the Spanx

What woman does not want to look her best?

Certainly I am no exception, but looking great is not always an easy task. Looking great requires time and energy, sometimes it requires a little creativity and inginuity and for me, it requires quite a bit of effort and up keep. Hence, this post.

  • 3:00pm - Decide to get ready for evening out.
  • 3:10 - shoo baby away from toilet paper roll, Place dress in a handy but unreachable (by grubby baby hands) place, set shoes next to dress.
  • 3:15 - find spanx so that slimming dress will look even better!
  • 3:25 - Stare at spanx and wonder how to get big thighs in without using large crane like machine.
  • 3:26 - begin process of squeezing oversized body into undersized undergarments, suck in and hold breath while jumping furiously up and down.
  • 3:30 - gasp for air as I have finally gotten in and did not pass out in process
  • 3:32 - Admire slimming figure in mirror - attempt to figure out how to breath while encased in spandex
  • 3:40 - Track down missing baby, remove toy from mouth that was found in sisters bedroom and return to bathroom with said child, DO NOT STEP on toys placed strategically on floor to occupy child.
  • 3:50 - Begin curling hair
  • 3:51 - realize that I have to pee
  • 3:52 - set curling iron down and begin process to remove slimming wrap
  • 3:55 - pee
  • 3:56 - keep baby from unrolling all the toilet paper
  • 3:57 - begin process of putting spanx back on
  • 4:00 pm- jumping complete, breathing again, begin curling hair
  • 4:10 do not let said baby grab the cord that has dropped within reach while curling hair above ear - must apply ointment for burn
  • 4:15 - stop child from unrolling toilet paper, resume hair curling
  • 4:16 - realize I am finding it difficult to breath, chalk it up to price to pay to look fab
  • 4:20 - notice child is not in bathroom anymore - go in search of baby
  • 4:30 - child hungry, must feed child before getting dressed.
  • 4:50 - return child to bathroom to keep an eye on her, must pee AGAIN....damnit
  • 4:51 - decide it can wait, must finish hair
  • 4:52 - stop child from unrolling toilet paper AGAIN
  • 5:00 - Running behind schedule, really need to pee...
  • 5:01 - remove spanx and pee
  • 5:03 - attempt to put spanx back on without jumping...wiggle, stretch and pull...give up and jump
  • 5:08 - must re-fix hair that was undone during jumping
  • 5:10 - give up and let child unroll ALL the toilet paper
  • 5:20 - Baby sitter arrives, hand child to her and finish makeup
  • 5:30 - slip slimming dress over the suffocating spanx and admire finished product. Stunning!

Smile sweetly at hub as we exit and try to figure out how I'm going eat dinner?

And the jokes on me

The hub is a very smart man, granted he is not perfect and has been known to completely do something goofy, but in general I can count on him for anything.

Being the 'loving wife' that I am (*cough cough*) when my hub came home boasting that he found his dream computer (dream computer for now) I decided I would buy it for him and surprise him with it. It was a custom built, monster with all the bells and whistles he could imagine. A few weeks go by and true to form, I tell him about it and he is as giddy as a kid on Christmas morning.

The day arrives that I am supposed to pick it up but as soon as I get to work I realize that I forgot the money (envelope with cash in it) at home. I don't typically pay with cash, but I couldn't find my checkbook to this account so I just stopped by the bank the day before and make a withdrawal. This much cash makes me nervous...I set in in a safe place at home and completely forgot about it.

The hub comes to work about an hour or so later than I do so I sent him a quick text message "Bring me the money for your computer when you come to work."

About an hour later I get a phone call ...

Hub - Hey.... I made a mistake.

Me - Really? What might that be? (Thinking he forgot something for DQ)

Hub - Yeah, remember how I needed to stop by the post office and mail my ballot...?

Me - Um, yeah.

Hub - Well....you see...I had both envelopes

Me - Don't even finish that sentence, if you're going to say what I think your going to say.

Hub - They were upside down and I accidental
put the wrong one in the box.

Me - OMG - seriously?

Hub - yep, I'm sorry

Me - Which post office are you at?

Hub - It was this one on Main Street and I need to get to work and they are not open.

Me - OMG - that was cash in an unmarked envelope...holy crap. You better hope they give it back, I'll be there in a minute to wait for someone to get there.

Hub - *chuckling* Nah, I didn't really do it, but I almost did...isn't it funny! hahahaha

Me - No, this is not funny!

Hub - Yes, it is funny...do you still want your money or do you want me to hold on to it?
Me - I'll take it.

Yes, people...my hub tried to give me a heart attack by claiming he had 'mailed' away my money. I was not a happy camper to say the least and he had officially signed his death warrant...sometimes, I hate that he is a jokester!

What's the worst joke someone has played on you?

Monday Madness - Words

Have you ever heard the saying "She is pretty until she opens her mouth?" The idea that once someone speaks, there intelligence (or lack of) will show thru. On the flipside, I've always been told that cursing is proof of someones lack of intelliegence...there are other ways to speak your mind without resorting to cursing.

Being a sailor - I can say I've probably used these choice words more often than not, however I try pretty hard to reserve them for occasions I just can't find the words to describe what I'm feeling. So what does this say about me?

Monday Madness - Words

1. Awesome
As in "Mom, I got an E in conduct today!" "That is totally awesome, you did really good." I used to hate this word, now I sound like a complete surfer dudette (who has never surfed!)

2. Right On
As in "Hey Kel, did you know lunch is free today?" "Right on!" Yeah, can you see me with the rockin' finger sign waving in the air...80's hair and all? HA, nope not a rocker babe either, but I speak the lingo.

3. Cool
As in "I just bought the new Apple iPhone." "Wow, that's Cool." Um, can't say much about this one, this word has been a permanent fixture in my vocabulary for MANY, many years...don't think it's going anywhere.

4. Seriously
As in "Geeky boy finally had a date." "Seriously...was she over 18?" Another one where I sound like I should be in my tweens or teens, but what can I say, I'm a Grey's Anatomy fan and it stuck!

5. Whaaaa??
As in "Did you hear, they are downsizing?" "Whaaaaa? How did you find out?" I know, I know - all I'm missing is the T but when I say the word, I just can't manage to get it on the end of the word....my true colors are shining thru. hehe

What words are a staple in your vocabulary?

In need of TiVo

Some of us work and some of us don't, but we are all familiar with tactics used to obtain our business. We've all called a customer service hotline at some point only to find that after many automated choices we either get put on hold for eternity, we get a voicemail or we get disconnected and rarely do we ever get a call back. Today however, we also have the joy of email...which leads me to today's post.

It used to be if someone was fortunate enough to get your phone number they would call you to death, but now it is all about email. I can follow up with someone 15 time via email if I choose (gotta love technology,) but what I received as a follow up was beyond anything I had ever seen before. In my job, information is gathered and prepared and then sent up the food chain where eventually a decision is made....this can take a LONG time, depending on the expected need of the product. Most of the time this is done far in advance as money becomes available. Below you will find a copy of an actual email I received from a vendor who is trying to obtain my business. Imagine my shock when I read the email below, knowing I have NEVER met the writer and only spoken to him via phone about business related issues.

Hello K,

A number of days ago you inquired about *** Hosted Exchange services.
We provided some background information about our firm along with a
description of the service and a cost estimate.

After subsequent follow-up attempts, we have not heard back from you.

Please hit "Reply" and select one of the following with an "X":

1) I've been so disappointed since the “World Cup”, the last episode of

“The Sopranos”, “Treasure Hunt”, Rockstar Super Nova “, and “The Apprentice”

that I can't get out of bed and thus could not respond.

2) My recent travels to Tibet and the Himalayas lasted much longer than
anticipated and Internet / phone access was tough to come by.

3) I found a provider who would do it cheaper and 99.9% uptime isn't
critical for my firm.

4) I decided to keep email in-house.

5) Other priorities arose and my firm never made a decision.

6) I would like you to have someone call me to discuss *** Hosted Exchange again.

Thank you for your response.

[If you selected option (2), I would be happy to help you find a more knowledgeable Sherpa next time.]

John

In case you were curious my response was as follows:

John-

In response to your email…

1) X

2)

3)

4)

5)

I’m sorry, I have had so much difficulty with my TV programming that my depression has kicked in full force and I have not been able to reply to any work related issues. This is such a problem that I have not been able to have my “sanity” medication refilled for many months now, which is beginning to become a real struggle. I really appreciate your concern and understanding with this matter.

Do people really send emails like this or am I just the lucky recipient of one such email???

Been one of those days....

Do you ever just have one of those days?

I do and today is one of them. That would probably be why it has taken me so long to get this post up as my thoughts are a bit jumbled and I can't seem to decide what is going to be put in print. It's more like one of those weeks, but I'm not really complaining because I know it could be worse.

Funny thing is that it isn't a bad week per se, just a rather scattered week. So in the spirit of all things goofy and off the wall I thought I would share with you a little bit of child like logic. When my daughter was a few years younger her class had a big board where they could write their thoughts or about their day. Actually, the teacher would ask them if they had anything to share with the class and then write what they decided to share with the class. Here are a couple of my favorites.

"My mom yelled at me for NO REASON" Griffin
(as most 5yr olds, of course there was no reason...little boys, especially this one, are not mischevious at all)

"I went to visit Jesus so my brother could love on him." Hunter
(visit jesus huh? Some days I wish Jesus would visit me)

"I went to the doctor so he could check on the penny. He took and x-ray and pulled down my pants.) Caleb
(money is such a yummy snack....even better on the way out.)

What's your funny?

TGIF!!

Can you believe it is finally Friday??

If you're anything like me, it took too long to get here and won't be here long enough. Good news is that Wall-E hit theaters today and I'M EXCITED!

Yep, that's right, me...not the kids...just me. (I'm a dork, I know)

I've been reading about it this week (almost as good as Sex in the City, but not quite) and it has gotten really good reviews. Everyone keeps referring to it as a relatively 'silent' movie, but that is only because the robots don't have traditional people voices, they are ROBOTS...they communicate with robot sounds. It is said that there are thousands of sounds in the movie to convey how they feel.
I can't wait.I am a HUGE fan of PIXAR films...why? Because they always have a 'pre-cartoon' and usually I laugh more than I do in the actual film. Have you ever seen the For the Birds cartoon shown before Monsters Inc. I think it's funny and yes, I have watched it numerous times...each time I still laugh till I cry.

Anyhow. It's Friday and I'm off. Enjoy your weekend!

What's your favorite funny movie?
