Moody Blues

Do you ever just have one of those weeks?

You know, the ones where your just crabby and it seems to rain on your parade on a daily basis? The ones where all you want to pull the covers over your head and stay there until the sun goes down again?

Yep, I'm in one of those weeks and while I can appreciate the fact that these moments come and go (i.e. it will eventually pass) I can't seem to shake this one. I'm moody and sullen (very unusual for me because I don't want to talk to people,) I want to be left alone, but can't stay home so I get up and go to work and just kind of ... be. It's kind of like being on auto pilot for me.

I'm not quite sure how I ended up here (swallowed up by this dark cloud) but I'm here and can't seem to shake it - I'm starting to wonder if my mood is mimicking the weather outside since it's been dark and rainy for a few days now and is projected to have rain into next week. Funny thing is that other than my mood, life is going pretty well...at least well enough that I wouldn't complain about anything major.

(Sorry for the crabby post, your regularly scheduled sunny commentator will be back tomorrow)

How do you shake off the Moody blues?

I'm sorry you're feeling like this. I know I get this way a lot during the winter, when I'm PMSing, when it's been raining for a couple days, or when I don't get to go to the fair and I really wanted to.

I usually sleep until the moodiness is gone. And I hate when work interrupts that!

I'm sorry that you have been feeling so down. I have those times too. Usually what works for me is to just get busy - get in motion - create a project and get working on it and somehow - if I can muster the energy to do that - I pull out of the slump.

I hope you pull out of your slump and feel better soon. Take care - Kellan

I was like that for the last 2 weeks. One thing that usually helps me is time alone at a place that's really relaxing & peaceful for me, like a park or lake. And a good book.
xoxo hope you feel better soon!

completely understand... as much as I try not to, I occasionally go there...

Tonight, I was going back through some old pics and ran across one of a close friend who died almost a year ago... I am so torn up right now... just thinking about the husband and kids left behind, along with parents, in-laws, friends, and the pain and loss that is almost beyond any comfort.

So - I will end this for now, but know that although we have never met, I am keeping vigil in prayer for you tonight... at 1:42AM Eastern... rest well...

oh kel - you know i have those days too! although i'm not always able to make myself do it, if i do something that feels productive - laundry, dishes, scrubbing the bathtub - i almost always feel better. the combination of doing something physical + something where you kind of have to think but not really = enough distraction to lift my spirits. the other thing that works for me is spending time with my niece and nephews - the can ALWAYS make me smile. i'll be thinking about ya!
